Prevalence and clinical presentation of skin affections in donkey (Equus asinus) in Egypt

Objective: To document prevalence and clinical presentation of skin diseases in donkeys as well to investigate predilections for the most common conditions. Design: Epidemiological study Animals: A total 1134 at northern Egypt were investigated.  Procedures: questionnaire was constructed verify number infected contact animals associated factors. Physical examination carried out distribution lesions recorded. Skin scraping biopsy obtained perform bacteriological, mycological histopathological examinations. Results: Thirty-five (3.09%) Out noticed had affections including mange (18/35; 51.42%), dermatophytosis (6/35; 17.14%), bacterial dermatitis 17.14%) urticaria (2/35; 0.57%) allergic (3/35; 0.86%). Conclusion relevance: The are prevalent donkeys. Contact with other animal species contaminated environment may contribute occurrence diseases.
